In addition to moving forward with its efforts to recover from the coronavirus pandemic, the Keystone State’s gambling sector is also not backing down from its expansion plans. While there have been several impressive developments in as far as gambling expansion in the state is concerned, mini-casino plans seemingly took to the sidelines. This has finally come to an end as now we have an official opening date for the very first satellite casino. c4c1s

Live! Casino Pittsburgh which is owned by The Cordish Companies has recently announced that the Westmoreland County-based operation will open its doors to guests on Tuesday, November 24. That is about a month away which is understandable especially considering all of the things that need to be gotten out of the way before the mini-casino goes live. For instance, the launch is subject to regulatory approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).

The operator further intends to host some private charity events on November 14 and 15 before the launch of the gaming venue. Moreover, there are plans for a ribbon-cutting ceremony two days after the charity event.

What to Expect 20133y

Considering the fact that The Cordish Companies has spent about $150 million redeveloping the two-story mall anchor area, it is safe to say that the new mini-casino will really appeal to visitors from all around the state. According to Live! Casino General Manager Sean Sullivan, the world-class property will “up the ante on entertainment for everyone in the Greater Pittsburgh region.”

The mini-casino will feature 30 tables games and up to 750 slots machines as well as a 455-seat FanDuel-branded sportsbook fitted with a massive 45-foot tall TV screen. The gaming options aside, the property will also have several dining and entertainment options for the guests. Some of the popular dining brands that visitors can look forward to include a Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen + Bar.

Naturally, since the new gaming and entertainment venue is going live in the middle of a pandemic, several measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of everyone’s health. The operator has thus developed a comprehensive plan that it is referring to as the “Play It Safe” plan. This plan primarily focuses on such things as temperature checks for both guests and employees, social distancing as well as constant disinfection of slot machines, table games, and high-traffic spaces within the casino. Everyone will also need to wear masks while inside the facility.

Mr. Sullivan has since assured the public that the company has “gone through extraordinary measures to meet and exceed the state’s COVID-19 guidelines to ensure all of our guests have fun and feel safe.”
